March is:

VI History Month: Visit the library and see our displays of VI books, artifacts, and history.  Participate in future Trivia games—students as well as faculty/staff may participate.  In addition, videos about the Virgin Islands history, culture, and people will be shown during the lunch period daily.

Women’s History Month:  The theme for women’s history month is Women’s Education – Women’s Empowerment.  As reported in the National Women’s History Project, although females outnumber males in colleges throughout America, this was not always the case. It was the fight of numerous tenacious women that granted them the right to an education.  Although men acquiesced and gave women the right to an education, it was on the premise that these women become mothers who nurture the bodies and minds of male citizens and future leaders.  Look for our Women’s month trivia as well as information about women who contributed much to society.

and Music in Our Schools Month:  March is also Music in our schools month.  We will celebrate local musicians as well as traditional instruments. Look out for our music trivia.  A documentary on Kean’s own Nicholas “Nick Daddy” Friday will be aired during the lunch break.
